Prodn. of oral compsns. from the herbs capillaria (Artemisia capillaris) and artemisia (Artemisia princeps var. orientalis) is carried out by (a) comminuting the stems, branches and leaves of capillaria, subjecting to steam distn. at 120 degrees C/30 psi, rejecting the distillate for the first 15 min, and collecting the distillate for the next 65 min; (b) repeating the above operations with artemisia; and (c) combining the extracts in the required proportions.
