The binding has a sole retainer swivelling on a base part round a horizontal axis, which when in the holding position is held by a spring tensioned latch link through a locking section combined with it in one construction. The locking section (1) is movable guided in the sole retainer (3). The release lever (4) has a stop surface (2) facing the latch link (12) which is adjoined by the locking section when in the holding position and which can be moved out of the movement path of the locking section (1) by the operation of release lever (4).
