PURPOSE:To improve solid-liquid contacting efficiency and to prevent reverse mixing by isolating walls by a method wherein isolating walls are provided in a zone, where liquid flows and which is the upper part of horizontal trough, in such a manner that the isolating walls cross the trough in order to form many liquid chambers, and the upper and the lower parts of the liquid chambers are stirred in a turned-up stream. CONSTITUTION:Transporting devices 2 such as screw are provided within horizontal trough 1 where solid and liquid are contacted countercurrently with each other and extraction, washing, etc. are carried out. The transporting devices 2 are driven to the extent that reverse mixing does not occur at the time of cuntercurrently transpotation of solid and liquid. In the trough 1, many isolating walls in the direction of right angle to axis of the transporting device 2 are arranged at appropriate intervals, and fixed to the trough. The isolating walls are arranged at the liquid side of the upper part within the trough in such a manner that the walls cross the trough. The walls are provided with grooves in slit form so that the screws of the transporting devices can be operated. The upper part of the trough is partitioned by the isolating walls to form liquid chambers. An air lift mechanism 4 is provided in each liquid chamber. Thus, a turned-up stirred stream is generated in the upper and the lower parts of each liquid chamber. Liquid is forcedly stirred to improve solid-liquid contacting efficiency. |
