The axially releasable clamp coupling is for ropes, hoses or cables drawn from a self-driven ram drill machine. It involves an inner conical bush (4) and a clamp ring (12), likewise conical fitted inside and axially displaceable outwards. The clamp ring (12) is slotted and is of two-part construction; it has a rough inner surface which incorporates channelled formations. Inside the bush is a support pipe (20) whose o.d. corresponds to the i.d. of the drawn rope or cable, and whose length equals that of the bush.
