The measuring appts. is partic. intended for optical fibre cables used in telecommunications, during its pulling into cable channels or tubes. A tensile force measuring head (1-8) is incorporated between a full rope and the cable proper. The head contains a converter (1, 2) which converts the measured tensile force into an electric signal (u). The latter continuously converted in an appropriate circuit (3, 4) into a measuring signal, transmitted without interference from measuring head to an evaluator. The signal converter has pref. a carrier frequency generator, keyed according to the amplitude of the measured value signals. The signal transmission may use conductors, e.g. the cable to be pulled into the conduit. The signal converter output may be connected to a cable transmission conductor, the latter being either a galvanic conductor, or a fibre-optic cable core.
