The aerial or submarine projectile has resistance-augmenting brakes, with two or more braking surfaces conventionally fitted. These are connected to the projectile body by hinges along the back edge (13), so that they open against the direction of travel. Each surface (14) is extended by adding one or more auxiliary surfaces, pref. one either side (15). The whole is made in one piece, shaped to fit the body contour when housed. A notch separates each auxiliary surface from the main, so designed that the former break off as soon as the brake is fully open.
