<p>PURPOSE:To prevent simply scaling within a desulfurization tower by a method wherin gypsum is positively produced within the absorption liquid-circulating tank of a SOx absorption tower by providing a means for introducing O2-containing gas into slurry within the tank. CONSTITUTION:An air supply tube 13 is inserted into the circulating tank 5 of an absorption tower. A partition plate 5A is provided within the tank to divide an air supply zone from other zone, thereby SOx-absorbed slurry is thoroughly contacted with O2 in air. In this case, the cavitation of pump caused by sucking air into a circulating pump 6 is prevented. The formation of scale can be prevented by supplying a given amount of air to the tank 5 to increase the concentration of CaSO4 in slurry. The symbol A in figure showes a zone in which the scale is not formed, the symbol C shows a zone in which the scale is formed, and the symbol B shows an unstable zone.</p> |
