<p>The sheet stacking mechanism with the sheets deposited on to a stacking table from a belt conveyor above, has a mechanism for marking the stack at each point, corresponding to a ream of sheets. At the receiving point is a counting device which operates a drive member when the number is reached. This has a plunger which operates a marking member which also acts as a stop for the arriving sheets. This member slopes at an angle so that a triangular mark is made on the edges of the sheet. The base of the triangle is level with the top sheet of a ream, then the width of the mark decreases downwards, and the lowest part of the ream is unmarked.</p> |
