PURPOSE:To extend the life of storage battery in such a way that strengthen of treating the sealed port at its end and that of tube are heightened by braiding with use of composite filament formed by acid resisting synthetic resin coat on the surface of glass fiber. CONSTITUTION:Plural composite filament 7 provided with acid resisting synthetic resin coat 9, such as polyethylene, etc. on the surface of glass fiber 8 are braided into a tubular shape 10. And the tube 10 is inserted into a core metal 3 composed of lead alloy, active material 5 is filled up between the tube 10 and core metal. The end parts of the tube 10, for instance the upper end part 3' of the core metal 3 and the exterior of a linked seat 2 are coated with synthetic resin coating material 6, such as polyethylene, etc., the tube 10 is inserted over the exterior of the coated material 6' to cover the part of the core metal 3, the bonding part 11 of the both is heated with use of a properly shaped jig under pressure, which makes it possible to incorporatively fuse them together and treats it by sealing the ports. |
