<p>Cpds. are of formula CxHy-S-CoHq-COOH (I) In (I) H may be replaced by a cation and one or both of the O atoms may be replaced by S; x is 2-20, y is 2-41, p is 1-18 and is always less than x and q is 2-37 and is always less than y. Cpds. are employed in amt. 10-500 ppm based on the mineral. Cpds. of formula (I) in which x is 12-18, y is 25-37, p is 1-6 and q is 2p are novel. Cpds. are partic. used for S-contg. minerals such as chalcopyrite, argentite, galena, blende, and marcasite. Cpds. contg.-COOH gps. give better results than the cpds. of the parent patent.</p> |
