The prefabricated panel may be of precast concrete, is of a cavity construction, and acts with an in situ reinforced concrete frame (115) to form the basis of an industrialised building system. Each panel comprises a wall or floor component of a building and is fabricated by bonding (114) two precast sub-panels (105, 106) back-to-back. The edges of the sub-panels thicken out and are contoured to constitute permanent shutters for the in situ columns (120) or beams. The edge may have narrow 'V' section channels (121) adjacent to each corner and a central channel of a symmetrical double petal section. The centre channels (115, 116) of two abutting panels combine to form a cruciform volume for the reinforcement and concrete (120) of in situ members. The 'V' channels may combine to form a slit which is filled with sealant (124). The cavities may be wholly or partially filled with insulating material (127).
|
