<p>An adsorption appts. for purifying a gas consists of a cylindrical vessel closed by covers, thermally insulated, fitted with inlet and outlet for the fluid being purified, nozzles for measuring instruments and instruments for control and safety and for charging and discharging the adsorbant. The insulating layer is placed inside the vessel. The energy losses incurred in heating the vessel itself and its supporting frame are avoided. These losses can amt. to 30-50% of the energy consumed. In addn. it is possible to reduce the weight of the vessel because the stresses induced by the temp. variations and necessitating the use of additional reinforcements are eliminated.</p> |
