Pressure resistant wallpaper substrate - mfd. by lining expanded polystyrene strip with extruded rigid polystyrene foam

Webs and plates of expanded polystyrene which are to be used as insulating base of wallpaper have to be made pressure resistant to prevent premature denting. The webs or plates of sliced or cut expanded polystyrene are for this purpose lined with webs or plates or rigid extruded or blown polystyrene foam. This joint can be performed by thermal-fusion or by an adhesive. This allows wallpaper to be peeled off and relaid without the difficulties caused by the conventional cardboard lining. The white surface eliminates the effect of low-cost grey cardboard shining through the wallpaper.
