<p>The system sets, monitors and adjusts tension in the guide and friction ropes of conveyors, partic. vertical ones, by means of weights, springs etc fixed to the rope ends. Taking into account the stretching and shrinking of steel ropes caused by temperature variations, the ropes are preloaded within their elastic limit by conventional tensioning devices. They are then firmly gripped by clamps at both ends, and the tensioning devices are removed.</p> |
