Printed circuit boards - mfd by applying elastic adhesive coating for conductor tracks and soldering tags

Printed circuit boards are produced by applying the conductor tracks and the soldering tags to an insulating plate. The insulating plate is first coated with an elastic adhesive layer, pref. consisting of a phenolic resin, combined with synthetic rubber. This layer is dried at room temp. or pref. by air or oven drying at 180 degrees C. The conductor tracks and soldering tags are then applied to the coated plate, for example by a screen printing technique. This produces a four-times better adhesion than vapour deposition or mask etching techniques. The new method costs less and creates no pollution problems like etching or vapour deposition techniques.
