A crop spraying and preliminary treatment process attains equilibrium between the rate of wetting and the diffusion of the water, taking into consideration temp. differences between the water and the grain being sprayed. The process is therefore independent of the season or climatic area as it is based on a programme. It is also independent of the quality of the crop. The programme is based on all the possible water and initial temps. of the grain, involving preheating or precooling of the grain or the spraying water. The duration is also a factor used to influence characteristics such as humidity and decontamination.
