In this storage rack for nuclear reactor fuel elements, centring members (5) can be used to ensure the guidance of a fuel element handling machine assigned to the storage rack and having centring fingers (18). The centring members (5) are arranged in the corners of the polygonal fuel element cross-section. They have a bevelled edge (10) for guidance. It is preferable in the case of square cross-sections for each fuel element position to be assigned two centring members (5) in a diagonal arrangement.
