<p>PURPOSE:To recover the pig iron with desulfurizing slag which has hitherto been discarded by coarse-separating the pig iron deposited with desulfurizing slag produced at the outside desulfurization of molten iron then charging the same into the mixer car or the like prior to iron receiving and newly performing iron receiving and outside desulfurization. CONSTITUTION:Blast furnace iron is received in a mixer car or the like and desulfurizer and desulfurization accelerator are blown therein by using carrier gas to perform outside desulfurization of the molten iron. At this time, the temperature lowers owing to blowing of the carrier gas and the included blast furnace slag solidifies as desulfurization slag which then floats on the molten iron. The desulfurized molten iron is transferred to a mixing furnace and molten iron pan, by which it is carried to a steel making furnace such as converter. The solid desulfurization slag and deposited molten iron remained in the mixer car are discharged from the mixer car. The pig iron is coarse-separated from the solid desulfurization slag and is charged into an empty mixer car, into which is then newly received blast furnace iron and these are mixed and melted and are subjected to outside desulfurization operation. The pig iron which has hitherto been discarded together with the desulfurization slag is recovered.</p> |
