The two parts of the coupling are of similar shape. The insulating case of each part has a number of projecting fingers, all except one having a contact element on its surface that faces the one finger that does not have a contact. The spaces between the fingers are equivalent to the thickness of a finger, so that the fingers of one part can fit into the spaces of the other part.
