PURPOSE:To obtain an erasing head for high-coercive force magnetic tapes where no coil is required and noise is small, by using a permanent magnet for a part or the whole of a center core and by making the magnetic gap width in both sides of the center core larger in the lower stream side of the tape running direction than that in the upper steam side. CONSTITUTION:For example, C-shaped side cores 13 are provided in both sides of center core 11 using a permanent magnet, and the residual magnetic flux of a tape is reduced to reduce noise by making the width of magnetic gap 14 in lower stream side 22 larger than that in upper stream side 21 in respect to the tape running direction arrow, and a needless leakage flux is reduced to erase a high-coercive force tape by making the center core into a permanent magnet. |
