Front end loading transit mixer

A front end loading transit mixer is provided in which the opening at the front end thereof is of an optimum diameter while the overall height of the vehicle is maintained within acceptable height limits by locating the operator's cab rearwardly of the front wheel set and laterally offset to one side of the frame of the vehicle. An unobstructed viewing opening is provided in the area extending inwardly from the front end of the frame and located above the front end portion of the frame and below the front section of the mixing drum so that the operator is afforded an unobstructed line of vision in a generally horizontal plane extending through at least 90 DEG in each direction from the direction of forward movement of the vehicle.
