<p>3-Acyloxymethyl-delta<2>-cephem compounds of the formula (I) <IMAGE> in which the substituents are defined in Claim 1, are obtained by reacting a 3-exomethylenecepham sulphoxide with a mixture of an acyl compound and of an appropriate anhydride at a temperature from 70 to 140 DEG C. The 3-acyloxymethyl-delta<2>-cephem esters of the formula I are generally valuable intermediates in the preparation of cephalosporins with antibiotic activity.</p> |
