The filter apparatus has a plastic screen (3) which is held in a stretching frame (1, 2). The frame has a handle (4), two arms (5) parallel to this and formed as one piece with it and a detachable transverse rod (7) connecting the arms. The transverse rod is arranged to be able to slide on the arms (5) by means of guides (8) on both sides. At one end of the transverse rod (7) is mounted a side intermediate piece (9) interacting with the handle (4). This intermediate piece (9) has a loop (10) which can slide on the handle (4) and is detachable from this. The filter apparatus is suitable in particular for filtering edible fats and edible oils, the screen being able to be very easily removable for changing. <IMAGE>
