PURPOSE:To reduce absorption loss in the waveguide part of a light waveguide path, by forming the parts holding the waveguide between, said parts consisting of 5-component mixed crystals of Al, Ca, In, P, and Sb accordant with an InP substrate in lattice constant. CONSTITUTION:Light oscillator 1 and waveguide 2 are optically combined with each other to form a light integrated circuit in one body on substrate crystals 3. Five component mixed crystals of Al, Ga, In, P, and Sb accordant with InP substrate crystals 3 in lattice constant compose oscillator 1, the main part of path 2, and parts 6 surrounding these or holding these between. Such a composition of parts 6 does not reduce a band width even when the refractive index of waveguide 5 of path 5 is raised, thus permitting a light waveguide low in absorption loss to be obtained. |
