PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording sheet having an improved fastness to light by a method wherein a triarylmethane or fluorane colorless dye and a bisphenol compound are forming the main component and a heat-sensitive color-developing layer containing a water-soluble ultraviolet absorbent is formed on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A triarylmethane colorless dye such as cristal violet lactone or a fluorane colorless dye such as 3-diethylamino-7-methoxyfluorane and a bisphenol compound such as bisphenol A are mixed in a water-soluble binder solution such as polyvinyl alcohol. In this solution, an ultraviolet absorbent, such as those having formulas I, II, III, or IV, which has a solubility higher than 1 against water at 25 deg.C, is added about 0.1% or above of color-developing agent, preferably about 0.5-50% thereof to coat and dry on the substrate of high-quality paper to give a heat-sensitive recording sheet by forming a heat-sensitive color-developing layer. |
