1,126,882. Endless conveyers. CABLE BELT Ltd. 28 March, 1967 [15 April, 1966], No. 16651/66. Heading B8A. An endless conveyer belt 10 is supported and driven by a pair of ropes 11, 11, which are driven by a single pulley 18 having a tread surface which decreases in diameter from both sides towards the middle, each rope 11 being wrapped several times round the pulley with its incoming portion being adjacent the side of the pulley and its off-going portion being adjacent the off-going portion of the other rope (of the pair) at the centre of the pulley. There may be a fixed or loose ring portion (27), (Fig. 5, not shown) separating the two rope windings on the pulley 18. There may be two pairs of ropes respectively supporting each longitudinal edge of the conveyer (Fig. 6, not shown).. Each pair is then carried by a respective pulley (28), (29), both of which are driven from a motor (35) via a differential gear (37). The belt 10 may instead be a series of linked plates. |
