An anchor device(4) for securing a wood sill plate(6) on masonry foundation or wall is described. The V-shaped anchor device(4) has a pair of side members(8) which are joined together at the lover end and spaced apart at the upper end. The anchor device(4) includes a bridge member(16) which extends over between the side members(8) adfacent the upper end of the device. Nail holes are provided in lateral portions(32,34) of the side members(8) to permit the anchor device to be secured to the sill plate(6) by nails(36)
