<p>Soft cheese blocks, esp. those of the type forming mould or fatty surfaces, stacked on a ripening shelf, are turned over by laying an empty shelf on top of the blocks to form a turning assembly. This is turned through 180 degrees relatively to its long axis and the ripening shelf which is then on top,is removed for use in turning the next stack. The stack formed by a ripening shelf filled with cheese blocks, is raised in steps equalling the height of the gap between the shelves, to the level at which its turned. In this position the turning assembly is completed by placing an empty shelf on top of the cheese blocks. After this has been clamped mechanically, the stack is moved sideways whilst it is turned through 180 degrees C. At the delivery point the stack is transferred, and lowered; the empty shelf which was beneath being used for the next stack. Used to provide a mechanical means of turning over blocks of cheese stacked on ripening shelves. The time consuming manual work is eliminated, and the stacks are turned over whilst they remain in their individual positions, without any detriment to their appearance.</p> |
