PURPOSE:To conduct the treatment of molten cast iron quickly and efficiently, by adding particles of CaCl2, KCl contained in a hopper intercepted from the air to CaO particles contained in another hopper, both having flowed down through respective pipes, into the middle of the pipe through which CaO flows down, then by adding the mixt. into the molten cast iron after mixing. CONSTITUTION:Particles of CaCl2 and KCl contained in a hopper 2, which is provided with dry-gas-feeding and releasing pipes 8, 9 and a cover 7, and is intercepted from the air, are let to flow down through a valve 5' and a pipe 6. On the other hand, CaO particles contained in another hopper 7 are let to flow down through a valve 5, a pipe 3. These materials are joined in the pipe 3 and mixed at a prescribed ratio. The particles of CaCl2 and KCl are pref. covered with CaO particles. For that reason, the top end of the pipe 6 is projectd to the central line at the middle of the pipe 3, and the inside diameter of the pipe 3 is increased in the lower part from the middle point. The mixed particles are added to a molten cast iron 4 as they are. Hereby particles of CaCl2, KCl, and CaO melt or vaporize spontaneously at the molten cast iron temp., forming slag quickly and efficiently. |
