PURPOSE:To improve a deflection accuracy in maintaining constantly a cleaned electrode without varying the distance across the electrodes by a method wherein a deflection electrode is shielded by a dielectric film, which is moved to clean the film surface. CONSTITUTION:For a charge deflection type ink jet recorder, one side or both sides of a deflection electrode 4 are shielded with a dielectric film 8 such as polyethylene terephthalate (commercial name, MAIRA), for example, the film 8 may be moved with a roller 9 and the like. A pad 11 is provided for the position which may not have an effect on the deflection of the ink to allow the pad 11 to clean the surface of the moving film 8 and to remove the electric charge on the surface of the dielectric film 8 with a discharger 10. |
