The gymnastics chair is aimed at maintaining or restoring physiological bodily functions. It consists of a seat (1) at the back fo which, in the area of the sitter's ischium, is a pelvis support (2) which slopes upwards and backwards. The pelvis support (2) can be adjusted as to its tilt by a control (5) between the pelvis support (2) and a thrust piece (4), and is connected to the backward pivoting back rest (6). Moving the back-rest (6) alters the relative position of the pelvis support (2). A pump cylinder (10) forms part of a hydraulic device, with a lifting cylinder (5).
