A circuit for a flash card has a series of thermal shunts which operate in sequence as each bulb in a top group is fired. When the last bulb is fired a selector switch (34) connects the bottom bulb of the bottom group into the sequence and the user can continue firing the flashes without inverting the card. The control can be preset at the beginning of the flash sequence so that the user is assured of a long sequence of flashes without changing the card over. The switches can be set so that the card can be plugged into the camera at either end.
