PURPOSE:To secure the combination between the faces E and H by selecting the connection quantity of mode TM11 so that the electric quantity of the cross polarization component may be minimum within the fixed range in case the conical horn is excited by the circular polarized wave. CONSTITUTION:For the step-type double-mode horn antenna, the amplitude ratio of mode TM11 is set to 0.44-0.47 to mode TE11 at the center of the aperture along with the phase difference set to a range of -10-0 deg. each. As a result, the electric quantity of the cross polarization component can be set minimum in case the conical horn is excited by the circular polarized wave. Furthermore, the beams can be combined together between faces E and H for the radiation pattern of the main polarization component in case the polarization component is excited by the linear polarized wave. |
