SUPERVISION DEVICE WITH AN OPTICAL DETECTOR FOR ELECTRICAL ARCS IN A CIRCUIT-BREAKER

It is sought to enhance the reliability of the optical detector in the supervision device of electrical arcs in a high power circuit-breaker insulated with SFu. To this effect a light impulsion external to the circuit-breaker is utilized, in order to check that the input and output surfaces of the detector are free of any light absorbing layer. The detector has at least a second sensitive layer associated with the external control impulsion and this control impulsion is deflected in a portion of the space to be surveyed before reaching again the detector and its first sensitive layer.
