<p>The burner for liq. fuel has the atomiser (18) coaxial with the air casing, with an annular plate baffle(10) downstream inside a length of double casing(6, 7) vented(8) inwards. A cup-shaped shroud - with an upstream portion(17) free to slide on the fuel pipe pressed by a spring(25) against a downstream portion(16) welded to the baffle - encloses the atomiser and ignition electrode tips. Openings in the upstream portion for atomiser and electrodes are dimensioned to leave gaps(22, 20) around them widening downstream. A peripheral slot links the electrode openings. The air casing is necked-in(27) to less than the baffle dia. just upstream of the latter.</p> |
