Spigot-and-socket joint for plastic tubes - with carborundum lined clamping elements embedded in seal ring

Spigot-and-socket joint between plastic tubes is secured by embedding i nthe seal ring at regular intervals clamping elements, made of plastic. The latter are exposed with their part-cylindrical inner faces to the spigot tube end and are coated on these faces with granules which are harder than the plastic of the clamping elements and tubes, e.g. made of carborundum. Seals can be produced at low cost and are easy to apply. They absorb axial forces between the tubes reliably without high local stress concn.
