PURPOSE:To provide a digital time indicator having no mechanical means in its digit indication mechanism, by arranging light-emitting ends of light-permeable fibers along 8-shaped digit-forming lines, which fibers in each 8-shaped lines are selectively irradiated to thereby make the fibers look like flashing digits. CONSTITUTION:Seven tracks are provided on cylindrical side walls of a first rotary drum 14A corresponding to a minute-indicating first digit, a secondary rotary drum 14B corresponding to a minute-indicating second digit, and the thrid rotary drum 14C corresponding to the hour-indicating third digit. These tracks have selectively operated light-permeable portion and a light-shielding portion, respectively. Light- permeable fibers 11 are exposed at one end portion thereof on the surface of a digit indication board 31 such that the exposed end portions of the fibers 11 are arranged along 8-shaped lines. The rotary drums 14A-14C corresponding to hour and minute indicating digits are operated to selectively pass and shield the light from lamps 13A-13C. The time is indicated on the board 31 in this manner. |
