Waste dangerous to health and environment is disposed of by means of incineration. The waste incineration takes place in an incinerator 2 while utilising outgoing air from a cooler 3 associated with a rotary kiln 1 connected to the incinerator as the main combustion air, while at the same time the outgoing gases from the incinerator 2 are carried to the rotary kiln 1 with a view to ensure a total combustion of substances dangerous to health and environment not being totally neutralised in the incineration. At the same time, the excess heat in the outgoing gases is utilised for making the combustion in the rotary kiln 1 efficient. The incineration takes place while simultaneously adding slagging agents, and the melted slag absorbs and neutralises by means of combustion substances not disposable such as heavy metals and similar. Inorganic substances formed or released during the disposal, e.g. hydrogen chloride are carried with the outgoing gases into the rotary kiln 1 where they come into contact with dispersed alkaline material present there, and become absorbed and/or react chemically with said material. <IMAGE> |
