PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of lapping powder and raise the productivity, by transmitting a thrusting force to rings through a flexible material and almost equally thrusting the rings on a surface plate. CONSTITUTION:When a surface plate 1 is rotated in a direction A, rings 5 are rotated in a direction B and correction rings 12 are rotated in a direction C. A lapping paste is coated on a lapping surface 4 or a lapping oil is dropped onto the surface. The lapping agent is pressed into the lapping surface by cylindrical rotating surfaces 5. As a result, a workpiece is lapped by the lapping surface and the lapping agent. Since the rings 5 are thrusted through buffer rings 7, the rings 5 are almost equally pushed on the lapping surface 4 and none of the rings 5 remains out of contact with the lapping surface. Therefore, a lapping powder is uniformly pressed in. This leads to uniform lapping. |
