PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration caused by oxidation at the tip of a thermocouple, by covering the tip of a pair of thermoelectric material with a ceramic coating of a heat resistant thin film. CONSTITUTION:A thermocouple assembly 1 is provided with a bar-shaped thermocouple in which a thermoelectric strand 2 as positive pole is welded to a thermoelectric base tube 3 as negative pole with a thermoelectric strand 22 at the tip thereof to make the welded point as hot junction. A conducting tube 31 which is on the negative side is butt soldered on the thermoelectric base tube 3 and covered with an insulating material 5 centered on a conducting tube 31 and pierced by a conductor 21 on the positive side butt soldered on the thermoelectric strand 2. Then, the conducting tube 21 and the conductor 21 generate a thermoelectromotive force equivalent to a temperature difference between the hot junction and a cold junction as soldered connection. A thin film ceramic cover material 4 covers the thermoelectric base tube 3 and the thermoelectric material 22 at the tip thereof 3 thereby enabling prevention of deterioration at the tip of the thermocouple. |
