PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a natural listening state by positioning a sound image in front of a listener by adding adequate equalizers and delay circuits to the right and left of a headphone. CONSTITUTION:Between a virtual speaker arranged in front of listener 1 and ears 2 and 3 of listener 1, equalizers 16a and 16b and delay circuits 17a and 17b simulating transfer characteristics between this virtual speaker and ears of listener 1 are provided in addition to electro-acoustic converters 18 and 19. Then, delay times tau3-tau'3 of circuits 17a and 17b are considered those when a sound wave travels a difference distance between those between the virtual speaker and ears 2 and 3, and converters 18 and 19 and ears 2 and 3. Further, converters 18 and 19 are arranged with its center line disagreeing with perpendicular lines l and l' of eardrums of listener 1. Consequently, a sound image increasing when listened only by converters 18 and 19 can be lowered to the front of listener 1 and positioned in front of listener 1. |
