A magnetic field detector for detecting the position of the rotor is equipped with a magnetic-electric conversion element which has the first(13) and second(14) electric passways installed at right angles with each other, output tap at the connecting point of the passways and the input tap at the end of the each passway, the first magnet and the second magnet seperated with the first one. The magnetic field applying to the conversion element is detected by the variation of the relative position between the convertsion element and the second magnet.
