PURPOSE:To gasify coal continuously without stopping the operation of the gasifier, by flowing a melt of molten iron and coal from one end of the rotating furnace body with agitation protrusions in one direction, and by taking produced gas and slag out out of the other end. CONSTITUTION:The molten iron 10 and the coal and limestone fed from the pipes 7 and 8 respectively are agitated by the refractory protrusions 6 in the rotating furnace 1, and oxygen and steam are blown from the oxygen and the steam nozzles 11 and 12 into the molten iron 10 via the rotating slide valves 13 and 14. Coal gas from the gasifier 7 is discharged from the outlet 3, and stored in the gas holder via the collector hood 24. Slag is made to flow forcibly to the outlet 3 by the slant protrusions 6, and the excess slag is overflown outside the gasifier 1 to maintain the amount of slag on the iron surface always constant. Thus, the close contact between improves the gasification efficiency. |
