HORIZONTAL CIRCULAR VIBRATION TYPE SEMICONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To form the captioned casting machine of superior performance by supporting the table fixing and supporting the mold by flexible and elastic stanchions and combining an excitor which gives horizontal circular vibrations to the table and a vertically moving member provided with a flexible and elastic stanchion. CONSTITUTION:The captioned semicontinuous casting machine is formed by providing the excitor which comprises supporting a table 5 supporting a mold 1 by flexible and elastic stanchions 6, being formed by disposing electromagnets 9 with respect to the magnetic pole pieces 8 added to the table 5 and being disposed at an angle of 120 deg. and disposing the vertically movable frame 13 mounted with a flexible and elastic stanchion 12 having a bottom plate 10 at its top. The casting process using the above-mentioned apparatus is accomplished by moving the frame 13 upward to fit the bottom plate 10 to the bottom end of a die hole 2 then starting pouring through the molten metal pool B and lowering the frame 13 according to the rate of pouring while exerting the electromagnets 9 subsequently by the 3-phase AC having a phase difference of 120 deg. to give horizontal circular vibrations to the table 4, thereby forming the cast product A.
