PURPOSE:To provide durable sealing performance by using an insulative gasket made of nylon which is immersed in amino-modified silicon emulsion, subjected to heating, and equipped with a water repellent layer on the surface cource. CONSTITUTION:An insulative gasket 1 of nylon molded into specified dimensions is immersed in amino-modified silicon emulsion. This gasket 1 has L-shaped profile and is provided at its inside with a boss 1a for detention with the periphery of a terminal plate. Then, excessive amino-modified silicon is removed from the gasket surface, followed by heating and fixation. Thus a gasket 1 equipped with a water repellent layer on the surface course is obtained. By the use of such a gasket 1, a button type alkaline battery is fabricated in combination of a positive electrode black mix 2, positive electrode black mix 2, gel- formed negative electrode 3, separator 4, battery can 5, and terminal plate 6. This eliminates water absorption at the surface of the gasket 1, suppresses dimensional changes of the gasket 1 because of moisture, and provides good sealing performance between the terminal plate 6 and battery can 5. |
