<p>The balcony slab has a layer of concrete, thermal and sound insulation, multi-bed waterproofing, a capping of cement, and a final coat of chippings or tiles. The foot of the support block sits on the concrete and carries the body and cap, the threaded bolts holding the cap on, while bolt is solidly bedded into the concrete slab. The stanchion is bolted into a threaded socket in the cap with bolt and washer and the waterproofing is carried up the sides of the support block under the cap and up the side of the front upstand of the balustrade.</p> |
