PURPOSE:To protect a superconductive wire at dielectric breakdown and also to increase cooling effect and shielding effect by providing a metallic plate connected electrically to a coil neutral point between a spool and a coil winding. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive coil consists of a coil winding 1, a metallic spool 3, an insulator 2 to insulate them, and a metallic plate 6 provided between the insulator 2 and the winding 1. A unit coil has its neutral point connected electrically to the metallic plate 6 and functions electrically as a shield as indicated by a dotted line 7. Therefore, the voltage generated is low between the coil winding part and the metallic plate 6 hardly to cause dielectric breakdown, and, if any, dielectric breakdown may take place between the metallic plate 6 and the metallic spool 3, thus keeping the superconductive wire from breakdown. Moreover, cooling effect can be improved by a heat equalizing action of the metallic plate 6, and shielding effect can be increased by the metallic plate 6. |
