<p>A metal base layer and a relatively thin facing layer of another metal are rolled together so that the edges of the facing layer are wrapped around and closed upon those of the base layer to form a composite structure. A layer of adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape may be introduced between the layers. Used in the mfr of cold rolled metal sections, eg vehicle bumpers and sections for shop fittings industry. The structure provides sections which are not formed wholly of an expensive material, e.g. stainless steel. The facing layer is pref on the outside of the section sot hat it is stretched with respect to the base layer and rippling of the facing layer is avoided.</p> |
