PURPOSE:To improve luminous efficiency by ultraviolet rays and reduce corsstalk by setting up light emitting diodes (LEDs) on a substrate on which cathode electrodes are provided. CONSTITUTION:Specified clock pulses are applied to the cathode electrode 2 and the preset positive voltage is applied to the anode electrode 4 for the time corresponding to the signal levels to be displayed. This permits discharge to occur between the anode electrode 4 and the cathode electrode 2 facing it in the preset display section of a level meter. The ultraviolet rays generated by this discharge excite the phosphor which is positioned near the cathode electrode and luminous display is performed. |
