Building panels of ruse as floor or ceiling lining or as decorative room partitions are made of square blocks of wood, cut at right angles to the grain, with long trapezoidal teeth on all four sides which fit into trapezoidal grooves of the next blocks. The spaces between the blocks are filled by cast resin, pref. polyester resin, when to be used as ceiling or floor lining. When used for decorative purposes, only the edges are solid plastics and a pattern of cavities is left, unfilled. This uses wood, which otherwise is only fit for burning or cutting to chips, to the best advantage.
|
